PRIANO'S

7618 N. Governent Way, Dalton Gardens, Idaho 208-762-9712

September 2000 my hubby got me a pool that is about 5 1/2 feet deep and 12 feet wide. Right now he has it covered, and a small water heater hooked up to it. I go into it about 3-5 times a week and just do water exercises. The water is any where from 62-72 degrees and is a bit chilly at first then you do get use to it. Remember our core temperature is high and with the cold water it brings it down. When standing in water up to your chest, you only weight a third of what you do on dry land. So you get the fitness benefits of running, hopping, twisting, and kicking without wear and tear on the joints.

Remember as we age, whether we have MS or not, our jointd don't react as well on land as they do in water. In water, you're completely buoyant; you're not working against supporting yourself.

QUICK RELAXATION

Loosen your clothing and get comfortable.

Tighten the muscles in your toes. Hold for a count of 10. Relax and enjoy the sensation of release from tension

Flex the muscles in your feet. Hold for a count of 10. Relax.

Move slowly up through your body-legs, abdomen, back, neck, face - contracting and relaxing muscles as you go.

Breathe deeply and slowly.

COOL SUIT FOR SUMMER GARDENING

A friend from Clarkston, Idaho sent me her "invention" to keeping cool while gardening. I thought all of you would be interested in it.

The got one of those Black support Vests that sell to construction workers. They have back crossed shoulder straps and she sewed the bottom of the two back panels closed to make "pockets". Then she bought two small Blue Ice Packs at the grocery store and they are the perfect fit for the pockets. Then she puts on her shorts and tank top, wide brimmed hat, garden gloves, vest with cool packs and out the door to her garden. In the past she could stay out for a hour or so and now with this cool vest she can stay out longer and do things she loves. Remember to keep the Blue Ice Packs in the freezer after and when not in use.
